The Saskatchewan Walleye Trail was founded in 1993 and incorporated in 1997 under the Non-Profit Corporations Act.

The Saskatchewan Walleye Trail is operated by members elected to the Board of Directors and the Executive. This team works closely with each other and with the tournament organizers to establish the perimeters of each sanctioned event that creates the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail. The 2025 season will again see four sanctioned events, two on Lake Diefenbaker and two on Last Mountain Lake. Information and brochures are available by clicking on the links provided.

Last Mountain Lake has become one of the most iconic and competitive stops on the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail. Questions and Answers about the Saskatchewan Walleye Trail (SWT

The SWT is a competitive fishing circuit made up of multiple walleye tournaments held across Saskatchewan each season. Anglers compete for cash prizes at each event and accumulate points toward the SWT Pro Challenge championship.

Registration is handled individually by each tournament. Forms and instructions are typically available on the SWT website or the hosting club’s page. Online registration is preferred where available, and payment methods vary by event.

Anglers earn points based on their placement at each SWT-sanctioned event. Points are totaled throughout the season, and the top team at the end of the trail wins the SWT Pro Challenge grand prize—typically a fully rigged Lund boat, motor, and trailer.

No, but competing in more events gives you a better chance of earning points. Most teams participate in at least 3–4 tournaments to stay competitive in the standings.

Each tournament offers its own cash prizes and big fish awards. Some events pay out the top 15 teams and include daily or bonus prizes. The Pro Challenge grand prize is awarded to the points champion at the end of the season.

Yes! SWT events are open to amateur and experienced anglers alike. Teams typically consist of two people per boat, and all anglers must follow the rules outlined by each tournament.
